Black 2 Comm is a genre free radio show produced and presented by Paul Jackson. Each track connects to the following in a running order that switches between musical styles, dates and audio quality - often leading to strange and unlikely musical pairings. Avoiding the restrictions of mainstream radio play-listing and genre based programming, the sequence carves its own unique path through pop culture. It is broadcast live at 8 o'clock on Sunday evenings on Resonance 104.4 FM (in central London) and can be streamed from resonancefm.com.

Featuring The Clash, Bill Drummond, The Chocolate Watchband and more. Cheq out this rare, early footage of the Cocteau Twins playing a faster version of Wax and Wane at De Meervaart Theatre, Amsterdam in January 1983. The line up includes their original bassist Will Heggie who would leave the band later in the same year. Black 2 Comm 27th November 2016

Featuring Deep Purple, PJ Harvey, Beastie Boys and much more. Cheq out this classic footage of Detroit radical rockers the MC5 kicking out the jams live in Bremen on the Beat Club TV show in 1972. Featuring Iggy Pop & James Williamson, Alien Sex Fiend, Slim Harpo and many others. Cheq out this footage of The Doors performing "When The Music's Over" at the Hollywood Bowl in 1968. The group sound like no other, which in part was due to the fact that they were made up of a classically trained keyboard player, a jazz drummer and a flamenco guitarist, fronted by the poetic Jim Morrison. According to sticksman John Densmore, the singer had dropped acid before taking the stage that on that particular night.

Black 2 Comm 6th November 2016

Featuring Aerosmith, Aphex Twin, Nico and much, much more. Cheq out this Black Sabbath concert recorded at L'Olympia Bruno Coquatrix in Paris on 20th December 1970. Bypassing the need for effects of any kind, they were able to make an incredible noise with their guitars plugged straight into the amps while Bill Ward beat the shit out of his drums. Ozzy's loud bellow and simple phrasing (often doubling up the guitar line) was able to pierce through the din to be heard. In the close up shots of guitarist Tony Iommi's fingers, you can clearly see the extended tips that he had made out of melted washing up bottle tops after losing his own in an industrial accident.

Black 2 Comm 30th October 2016

It looks like an eighth generation copy of a VHS tape but it still manages to capture the urgency and excitement of their live show.

Featuring The Everly Brothers, New Order, Alexander "Skip" Spence and many others. Cheque out this incredible footage of The Who playing Pete Townsend's mini opera "A Quick One While He's Away". It was filmed for a canceled TV spectacular that was put together by the Stones entitled "The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus". The Who's performance was rock solid as they'd just finished a tour while the Stones' put in a lackluster set. Many believe that this was the reason that the programme was shelved until its eventual release in 1996, 28 years after the event.
